We are planning on putting together a support group for anyone who would like to be able to contact others in similar circumstances. Please contact us and register your interest if this speaks to you.

Collectively, we have over ten years experience of working in care homes, helping individuals and their families. We strive to be a very caring and professional team with empathy, understanding and a wide knowledge base.

Education

Because of how hard we found it when we were affected by person centred care journeys we understand how traumatic these times can be. We are therefore advocating that people deal with putting their own essential documents in order - if you require information about these please ask (although we need you to be aware that we are not qualified lawyers or accountants - all we are is people with an understanding and experience).

Our values, our passion -

We strongly believe that the needs, welfare and dignity of the one at the heart of the

person centred care journey come first in all situations

Each and every person is different and their likes, dislikes, wants and wishes need to be taken into account.

We know, at times, hard decisions have to be made, because so much depends on individual circumstances.

We also understand that sometimes hard decisions lead to feelings of guilt - all situations are different.

Essential documents -

Do they matter - why bother?

A survey by the UK Government's Office of the Public Guardian found that only 27% of respondents had a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, while 41% said they didnt know what an LPA was.

Similarly a 2020 study by the Law Society found that 60% of adults in the UK do not have a Will.

Essential documents do matter - and we would ask that adults in the UK reading this look to put essential documents in place when they reach adulthood and start accumulating assets or dependents.

Do your loved ones know your funeral wishes?

Wow - that's harsh I hear you say - but at YvonneRose Consultants we truly believe these matters should be talked about and discussed.

Upon the passing of our loved ones, their specific wishes were unknown due to a lack of communication. This left us unsure of their desires and therefore unable to fulfill them.

Many people may be uncomfortable thinking about their own mortality or the possibility of being impacted by loss of capacity.

As at result they may avoid thinking or talking about or planning for these scenarios.

At YvonneRose Consultants, we believe it is important to have these conversations, so when a loved one is nearing the end of their earth journey quality time can be spent together, just enjoying being with each other. Not worrying or stressing about the unknown.

What person centred care journey will be best for my ........

How do you know which path to take? What happens if you are unhappy with the care your loved one is receiving?

There are always two sides to every story. You may feel your loved one is not being cared for as they need to be cared for in the facility where they reside. You bring this up with the Manager of the facility. You get unsatsifactory answers.

If you are hitting a brick wall and are unhappy, it may be an idea to run the scenario past someone with everyday experience from the other side. We have experience of working with residential care, dementia care, nursing care, and also end of life. It is highly likely that we will understand where you are coming from, and be able to chat with you and put your mind at rest, or give advice.
